# Advantages
- This saves dozens of unneeded clone()s across the whole code base
- Makes it much easier to reason about how parameters are used
(often we passed owned Arc/Rc versions without actually needing
ownership)
# Exceptions
For certain code paths, the alternatives would require awkward or overly
complex code, and in some cases the functions are the logical owners of
the values they take. In those cases, I've added
#[allow(clippy::needless_pass_by_value)].
This does not mean that one should not improve this in the future.

This is the first change to Cloud Hypervisor in a series of changes
intended to increase the max number of supported vCPUs in guest VMs,
which is currently limited to 255 (254 on x86_64).
No user-visible/behavior changes are expected as a result of
applying this patch, as the type of boot_cpus and related
fields in config structs remains u8 for now, and all configuration
validations remain the same.

KVM supports GICv3-ITS emulation and the current GicState is modelled
around the KVM implementation. We should refactor this to accomodate
other hypervisor requirements. For example, MSHV only support GICv2M
emulation for guests for delivering MSI interrupts instead of GICv3-ITS.

By introducing `imports_granularity="Module"` format strategy,
effectively groups imports from the same module into one line or block,
improving maintainability and readability.

Historically the Cloud Hypervisor coding style has been to ensure that
all imports are ordered and placed in a single group. Unfortunately
cargo fmt has no support for ensuring that all imports are in a single
group so if whitespace lines were added as part of the import statements
then they would only be odered correctly in the group.
By adopting "group_imports="StdExternalCrate" we can enforce a style
where imports are placed in at most three groups for std, external
crates and the crate itself. Choosing a style enforceable by the tooling
reduces the reviewer burden.

Split interrupt source group restore into two steps, first restore
the irqfd for each interrupt source entry, and second restore the
GSI routing of the entire interrupt source group.
This patch will reduce restore latency of interrupt source group,
and in a 200-concurrent restore test, the patch reduced the
average IOAPIC restore time from 15ms to 1ms.

The information about the identifier related to a Snapshot is only
relevant from the BTreeMap perspective, which is why we can get rid of
the duplicated identifier in every Snapshot structure.

The snapshot and restore of AArch64 Gic was done in Vm. Now it is moved
to DeviceManager.
The benefit is that the restore can be done while the Gic is created in
DeviceManager.
While the moving of state data from Vm snapshot to DeviceManager
snapshot breaks the compatability of migration from older versions.

In the new process, `device::Gic::new()` covers additional actions:
1. Creating `hypervisor::vGic`
2. Initializing interrupt routings
The change makes the vGic device ready in the beginning of
`DeviceManager::create_devices()`. This can unblock the GIC related
devices initialization in the `DeviceManager`.

Use VgicConfig to initialize Vgic.
Use Gic::create_default_config everywhere so we don't always recompute
redist/msi registers.
Add a helper create_test_vgic_config for tests in hypervisor crate.

Combined the `GicDevice` struct in `arch` crate and the `Gic` struct in
`devices` crate.
After moving the KVM specific code for GIC in `arch`, a very thin wapper
layer `GicDevice` was left in `arch` crate. It is easy to combine it
with the `Gic` in `devices` crate.

The calls to these functions are always preceded by a call to
InterruptSourceGroup::update(). By adding a masked boolean to that
function call it possible to remove 50% of the calls to the
KVM_SET_GSI_ROUTING ioctl as the the update will correctly handle the
masked or unmasked case.
This causes the ioctl to disappear from the perf report for a boot of
the VM.

On FDT, VMM can allocate IRQ from 0 for devices.
But on ACPI, the lowest range below 32 has to be avoided.

On AArch64, interrupt controller (GIC) is emulated by KVM. VMM need to
set IRQ routing for devices, including legacy ones.
Before this commit, IRQ routing was only set for MSI. Legacy routing
entries of type KVM_IRQ_ROUTING_IRQCHIP were missing. That is way legacy
devices (like serial device ttyS0) does not work.
The setting of X86 IRQ routing entries are not impacted.

Both GIC and IOAPIC must implement a new method notifier() in order to
provide the caller with an EventFd corresponding to the IRQ it refers
to.
This is needed in anticipation for supporting INTx with VFIO PCI
devices.

Unlike x86_64, the "interrupt_controller" in the device manager
for AArch64 is only a `Gic` object that implements the
`InterruptController` to provide the interrupt delivery service.
This is not the real GIC device so that we do not need to save
its states. Also, we do not need to insert it to the device_tree.

There will be some cases where the implementation of the snapshot()
function from the Snapshottable trait will require to modify some
internal data, therefore we make this possible by updating the trait
definition with snapshot(&mut self).
